We are a NJ based
Animal Hospital focused
on providing the best quality care to our patients.

Meisels Animal Hospital has had a long tradition in Bergen County. It was established in 1946, by its founder Dr. Morton Meisels a 1941 graduate from Cornell Universities College of Veterinary Medicine. He started in a small house that had a clinic on the first floor. At that time, he lived in the apartment upstairs and covered his own emergencies. As the years passed and the practice began to grow he engaged in several major expansions of the facility which ultimately led to its current footprint of 4,000 s.f.
In 1973 Dr. Moldoff joined the staff and began what was to be a long association with Dr. Meisels. They both shared a vision of where they wanted to take the practice in terms of the physical plant and the quality of the services. A major renovation, designed by Dr. Moldoff was completed in the spring of 1977. Dr. Bruce Beckmann joined the staff in 1979, and was in partnership with Dr. Moldoff until his recent retirement. The current renovation which was just completed, allowed Dr. Moldoff to fulfill his lifelong dream of creating a state of the art facility which would better serve its clients and patients.

Today the practice has continued to maintain the high standards that Dr. Meisels had set forth from its inception. We would currently describe our practice as one which provides high quality primary care, but we also have an excellent relationship with area specialty/emergency 24 hour facilities, namely The Animal Emergency and Referral Associates, in Fairfield, and The Oradell Animal Hospital, in Paramus. In this way we can provide not only the primary care that involves the majority of cases, but also those requiring the knowledge and expertise of specialists. We feel this team approach, much like the model that is used by our human counterparts, works well and provides the best overall care. In addition to our doctors, we have a support staff of eight employees who all share in the responsibility of serving our clients and patients.
